Yes, we are fully insured with Petplan Sanctuary, DBS checked, advanced first aid trained, and licensed by Cheshire West and Chester Council as a 4-star business for Dog Home Boarding with a maximum of 5 boarding dogs: LICENCE NO. 25/AAL/HB/579903. We are also vet registered for your peace of mind.

For your assurance, we hold evidence of certification for all of the above, including:

• Insurance certificate

• DBS check confirmation

• Advanced canine first aid certificate

• Local authority boarding licence

• Veterinary registration details

Absolutely! We accept dogs of a wide range of breeds, sizes, and personalities - but always on a case-by-case basis, prioritising their safety, comfort, and happiness. Acceptance is based on individual needs, temperament, and behaviours, which we carefully assess during our three-step onboarding process.

We welcome dogs from extra-small to large up to to 30 kg. Due to the size of our cottage, we’re unable to accommodate extra-extra-large breeds. This policy ensures all dogs have a comfortable and secure environment.

Yes, we have extremely limited availability for solo boarding, at a higher charge of £150 per night as we would be boarding no other dogs during this time. This service is ideal for intact males or anxious dogs etc.

Absolutely! We have a comprehensive range of policies and procedures covering every aspect of dog care, safety, and wellbeing. These have been formally approved during our Cheshire West and Chester dog licence inspection, verified by our vets, and are available on request.

Our policies include everything from emergency care, medication administration, feeding, exercise and enrichment, health monitoring, and working with dogs with specific needs, to transport procedures and noise control.

We’ve thought long and hard about every detail to ensure your dog enjoys a safe, happy, and stress-free experience in our care.

For the safety and wellbeing of all dogs in our care, the following are mandatory:

✔ Core Vaccines: DHP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza)

✔ Leptospirosis

✔ Kennel Cough (Bordetella)

Timing:

All vaccinations must be up to date.

• If restarting vaccinations, the full course must be completed at least 2 weeks before boarding.

Kennel Cough waiting periods:

• Nasal: 2 weeks

• Oral: 10 weeks

• Injection: immediate acceptance

Additional Requirements:

• Proof of vaccination is required before your dog’s first stay.

• Dogs must be free from contagious illnesses and treated with vet-grade flea and worm products (proof from your vet required).

• We cannot accept dogs who have been ill within the last 72 hours or had an infectious disease within 21 days prior to boarding.

Yes, we can administer prescribed oral or topical medications as per your written instructions and consent.

Yes! We welcome dogs with behavioural, emotional, or medical needs. Each dog receives a Personalised Care Plan, developed with you and, if necessary, your vet. Our team is trained in fear-free handling, reactive dog management, medication administration, and enrichment for senior or disabled dogs. We provide:

• Calm, predictable routines tailored to your dog’s needs

• Safe handling and positive reinforcement strategies

• Medication administration and health monitoring

• Adapted environments and equipment for comfort and mobility

Dogs with specific needs may be housed in quieter areas or boarded individually upon request (additional charges apply). We maintain detailed logs and keep you informed every step of the way to ensure your dog feels safe, understood, and loved.
