Personalised Dog Care You Can Trust
Where Care Matters
Guided by Care, Trust & Experience
Everything we do is rooted in providing safe, thoughtful, and compassionate care. We treat every dog as an individual, prioritising their wellbeing, comfort, and happiness, while offering consistent, loving care in a calm environment that respects both the dogs in our care and the natural world around us.

T
Trust
We value the trust placed in us by dog owners and our wider community. We foster a culture of compassion, safety, and reliability, ensuring every dog is treated with kindness, patience, and understanding. We promote positive relationships between dogs and humans, and between dogs within our small pack setting here at Jasmine Cottage.
A
Animal Welfare
We value and prioritise the animal welfare of every dog. We uphold the five welfare needs: a suitable environment, a suitable diet, the ability to exhibit normal behaviour, protection from pain, suffering, injury and disease, and appropriate social housing. Every dog is treated with fairness, honesty, and dignity.
I
Individuality
We value the individuality of every dog, recognising that each one has its own personality, needs, and preferences. Our approach respects each dog's emotional and physical wellbeing, and we tailor our care to suit their unique character, breed traits, and life stage.
L
Love & Respect
We value, love and respect the natural world and the role that both dogs and humans play within it. Rooted in the peaceful Cheshire countryside, our service nurtures a love of nature through outdoor walks, enrichment, and respectful interaction with the environment. We encourage a deep appreciation for the outdoors and promote gentle, mindful engagement with the spaces we share.
S
Stewardship Of Nature
We value and promote stewardship of nature in everything we do, helping ensure future generations of dogs and humans can enjoy the countryside safely and harmoniously. We teach and model care for our surroundings, including proper use of public footpaths, respect for farmland and livestock, and responsible behaviour in rural spaces. This includes always picking up after dogs, closing gates behind us, and following countryside etiquette.
Built Around dogs, Guided By Care
Get to Know Us
We’ve been living and working with dogs for over 20 years, brought together in 2006 by a shared love of the outdoors and animal care. In 2007, our first Springer Spaniel joined us, soon followed by another, becoming part of everyday life through long walks, outdoor time, and steady companionship from puppyhood through to old age.
A few years later, we welcomed Bailey, a rescue Springer with significant anxiety and reactive behaviour. After several unsuccessful rehoming attempts, he returned to us permanently. With patience, consistency, and calm routines, Bailey learned to feel safe and settled, spending his later years relaxed and secure.
Alongside caring for our own dogs, we’ve raised our daughter and provided respite care for foster children, shaping a calm, structured approach and a strong understanding of individual needs.
More recently, we’ve cared for dogs belonging to friends and family, working with a wide range of breeds and temperaments. This hands-on experience includes lead walking, recall, basic training, enrichment, and confidence-building.
All of this led naturally to Happy Tails at Jasmine Cottage — a small, home-based dog care service built on patience, trust, and respect for each dog as an individual, offering thoughtful care in a calm, rural setting.

"We are so pleased we found Happy Tails at Jasmine Cottage! From the first time we met Emma and Carl we knew that our little Mabel would be so well looked after On her first sleepover, Emma sent us plenty of photos and updates, and Mabel settled so quickly in their lovely home. We have already booked Mabel’s next visit. We couldn’t recommend them enough. Thank you both so much."
